Sidebar: I actually did launch an MVP of this a few years ago but the woman I partnered with to be the CTO ended up bailing on me. (Sarah, if you're out there, I'd still love to move this project forward.
The problem is there are mysterious forces at play in determining who gets famous and by how much. (Which then determines how much we have to see and hear from them in the news and in all forms of media we engage with)
I want to make that a more democratic process. Let everyone get a say in who is an A-list vs B-List (vs. C or D list) celebrity.
Users can scroll through a feed of celebs and click a button to choose which "list" that celebrity should be on. Is Paris Hilton an A-lister or is she really a C-lister at this point?
Each celebrity then gets a page where that data, as well as other data about them from social media or other public sources, can be viewed, aggregated, or seen trending over time.
The A-list would then become the go-to source for celebrity related info giving it the power to change the narrative and public conversation around the nature of celebrity and our relationship to it.
